The uprising ministry of dance led by “Leaps of Faith: was founded by Sister Monica Jones in 2001.  Upon its establishment, she only stared with her three sisters, Amber, Melody and Princess and a few close friends.  Today the members range from 7-22 and are continually growing.

Romans 10:15 states, “How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things,” has become Monica Jones’ motto after her moving testimony of being born two and a half months early and only weighing 2 lbs and 5 oz.  She wasn’t expected to be born and when she was, they said that she would be confined to a wheelchair or have braces on her legs and feet for the rest of her life.  This ministry is so special because Monica wasn’t the only member born with complications.  Fellow dancers, Amber Jones and Natalie Brown were also born prematurely.  That is why Monica says, “When performing, we hope to send inspiration to the world by letting them know that ‘God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.’

She went on to say, “The name itself bears witness that God will perform wonders through you if you trust in Him.  We are a dance ensemble that glorifies God through dance.  By using dance as a tool to express our gratitude to God, we are letting the world know that God is a healer! ! !”

With determination and hard work, these young ladies have decided to use their talent of dance to worship and praise God.  Though they are mostly raw talent, several of them have been rigorously trained in dance at such institutions as the International Ballet, Ballet Magnificat, Ballet Mississippi, New Stage Theatre, Belhaven College Dance Dept. and Power APAC (Academic and Performing Arts Complex).  Monica Jones was even a Theatre Major at power APAC for 11 years where she also studied areas of dance!

In 2007, with collaboration of Kevin Jones, Melody and Monica Jones and under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, H.U.S.H. (Hands under Sanctified Healing) was born and remains a product of Leaps of Faith.

This ministry has performed at the Potter’s House (Bishop T.D. Jakes), the National Black Caucus of State Legislatures, Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation, nursing homes, anniversaries, weddings, churches and PTA meetings.

If you have not had the opportunity to witness a performance, be on the lookout for upcoming Leaps of Faith Events.  For booking information please contact Sister Monica Jones at 601-624-7078 or Brother Kevin Jones at 601-529-4715.
